As the 1st edition of the Milton van Dyke competition 2025 was so well received we would like to announce the 2nd edition which will take place at the University of Pisa on the 16th April 2026 as part of ERCOFTAC Spring Festival 2026.
The Milton Van Dyke prize would be awarded for the most inspiring, thought-provoking or simply most beautiful flow visualization (image or animation, from experiments or simulation) generated during research in fundamental or applied fluid dynamics. The criterion is the aesthetics of the visualization.

Source: Prof. Bernardo Luiz Ribeiro (FEM/UNICAMP)The Aero Renewable Laboratory at the University of Campinas has an open position for a Master’s student in the areas of Computational Fluid Dynamics, Aerodynamics, and Machine Learning. In this project, the student will work on optimizing the performance of oscillating foil-arrays for energy harvesting through a combination of high-fidelity simulations and machine learning techniques for the development of reduced-order models.
